Architecture with purpose: the variety of styles in Colonial's buildings

Underlying all Colonial projects are the same fundamental values: the search for energy efficiency, the effort to integrate them into the surrounding environment to protect native biodiversity, the implementation of anti-emission strategies, and the commitment to offering spaces focused on human well-being. These ingredients are non-negotiable. However, based on them, buildings can be erected with very different aspects depending on the architectural style selected. Colonial's portfolio of assets includes buildings with aesthetics as varied as rustic, futuristic, or integrated.

Wittywood: groundbreaking rusticity

Wittywood is the first office building in Spain to be built entirely of wood. And it is not located in the middle of a wilderness area; it is in one of Barcelona's main production centers, which creates a contrast with the surrounding urbanity. But a beautiful contrast. One that functions as a declaration of intent, an exciting message that cities can be built while taking care of the planet. That working environments can be places where people are in total harmony with their surroundings.

Castellana 52: fusion of art deco and futurism

It is one of those buildings that catches the eye of those who walk near it. Its large vertical windows, through which an enormous amount of sunlight penetrates —affecting both the environmental impact of the building and the psychological well-being of its occupants— are crowned by round arches. This mix of styles creates a very pleasant feeling: that of being in front of an elegant building, with its feet in memory and its hand outstretched towards the future. Its interior spaces are designed to transmit the same impression to those who visit them.

Torre Marenostrum: integrated modernism

Undoubtedly one of the most unique buildings in Barcelona. Located on the city's seafront, with the Mediterranean Sea as a backdrop, this building evokes a rock lashed by the waters and the winds thanks to the sinuousness of its forms and the glazing of its skin. A modernist aesthetic, but integrated into the half-natural, half-urban space in which it is located. Its huge windows, through which workers have direct contact with the city, are also reflective elements that make the building glow with the blue of the sky. It almost looks like the fruit of nature.

José Abascal, 45: stately classicism

Pointing to the future through architecture is a great way to draw tomorrow. But the past must also have a place and be cared for as it deserves. Our active José Abascal, 45, located in Madrid's popular Chamberí district, is a good example. From its elegant balconies to its columns, its stained-glass windows and its exposed brick façade, everything about it exudes timelessness. And it is not the only one: Sagasta 31-33 or Gran Vía 30 are also Colonial buildings well assimilated in the capital due to their classicism.
