Air quality and productivity, two issues that are more closely related than one might think

Employee productivity is one of the greatest concerns for companies. With high rates of absenteeism and companies attempting to motivate workers to improve these rates, offices are now showcases for corporate values with which to show the company’s universal commitment.

Health and wellbeing are thus essential factors. “Healthy offices” are particularly important at a time when employees rate health above employment stability in their list of their concerns.

It is here that air quality comes into play. According to a report on Environment produced by Cushman & Wakefield, 9 out of 10 people are not satisfied with the air they breathe.

Pollution, pollutants, dust and odour reduce air quality and directly affect the productivity of office employees. Colonial, as a company committed to air quality, has started working to improve the air quality of its buildings in collaboration with Aire Limpio.

Aire Limpio is a company that improves indoor air quality in offices, buildings and hospitals. Through the use of a filter system it creates an effective barrier against polluted outside air, which means the air inside the office can recover its purity and makes the office an “oasis” in the midst of the pollution of urban life.

In addition to improving office productivity, having such a system makes it possible to generate significant differential over other work spaces, something which is not just a matter of technical aspects, quality or location. As users and their health are the main objectives, any pledge towards improving air quality makes the building a more efficient place.
